“Her demands got out of hand,” a source said. “Fox had just had enough.” Sources also said that J. Lo. was not on the top of the list of possibly judges.

“J.Lo was definitely not the first choice,” a source told the PopEater website. “In fact, she wasn’t even the second or third choice. “It became clear that neither Elton nor Barry was ready to stop doing what they did best, writing and performing.

“Plus, they are international legends. They certainly don’t want their legacy to be [as] the guy that replaced Simon Cowell on Idol. On the other side, rumors say that Jessica Simpson was on the point to sign a deal for the show.

“You won’t find many folks that like Jessica’s movies or music, but who doesn’t love watching Jessica on TV,” a source said at the time. “She would be the perfect person to replace the void that Paula Abdul left. Jess is funny, caring and a total ditz. Just what the show needs to make America start caring again.

“[But] Benny dazzled the Idol producers in his pitch of J.Lo, and how the power of his client could put Idol back on top. “This was literally music to Idol’s ears after seeing their show drop over 20 percent in the ratings in just one year.

“All of this has left Jessica heartbroken, she has known for some time that she needs a Benny Medina-type manager to secure her the big opportunities when they come along, but how do you fire your own dad?”
